The Challenge:

With a clear understanding of the electricity legal, regulatory and policy landscape, there was need to understand Uganda’s rural electrification programme and identify what areas would be more impactful in unlocking access.

What We Did:

Identification of strategic interventions in the on-grid and off-grid landscape that would lead to approximately 100,000 connections per year.

Impact:

The market assessment resulted into a National Transformative Program that focuses on increasing on grid connections through an innovative financing mechanism and also unlocking the potential of mini-grids to increase access.
